| The Cleburne High School Ex-Students Association is currently accepting nominations for Coming Home Queen, the Wall of Fame Award and Parade Marshal in preparation for 2010 Homecoming activities.
This year's Homecoming is set for October 21 and 22, with the annual parade scheduled for Thursday evening, followed by the Homecoming game with Joshua on Friday.
"We would love to hear from a lot of graduates and classes," Ex-Students Association President Cheri McCullough said. "There are a lot of people out there who deserve to be nominated for these honors and awards. We're very excited about this year's Homecoming event and would love to have lots of exes involved in the planning process."
Among the plans for this year's activities is the "recycling" of the 2009 Homecoming Parade theme "Monster Mash."
"Everyone was so disappointed with the cancellation of last year's parade due to the predicted rainstorms." McCullough said. "We know several campuses and groups had put in a lot of time and expense on their floats, which had been decorated with the Monster Mash theme. We asked the Cleburne High School Student Council, which chooses the parade theme, if they would stay with the same idea, so those floats could be used again this year."
Entry forms for the 2010 Homecoming Parade can be downloaded HERE and are also available at CISD Central Offices, 505 N. Ridgeway, Suite 100.
Nominations for the Coming Home Queen, Wall of Fame Award and Parade Marshal may be mailed to P.O. Box 1283, Cleburne, TX, 76033 or emailed to: su.xt.21k.enrubelc@hguolluccm.irehc. Information on the nominee and contact information on the person/class making the nomination is requested. Only graduates of CHS are eligible for the Coming Home Queen and Wall of Fame recognitions.
"We are seeking nominations of individuals who were active and involved students at Cleburne High School who have continued to reflect the 'heritage of excellence' of CHS and Cleburne ISD," McCullough said. "Many of the graduates honored as outstanding exes through the years have given back through their involvement with the high school and community, and in the way they have led their lives, no matter where they now call home."
The honor of Parade Marshall is open to an individual (or individuals) who may not have attended Cleburne schools, but has shown a true dedication and commitment to Cleburne High School.
McCullough is also encouraging all CHS graduates to join the Ex-Students Association. Annual membership dues are $5. The dues assist with Homecoming expenses and also benefit the Alumni Scholarship Fund. |
